The Feldenkrais-method

The Feldenkrais-method is a unique, trailblazing method in the way it enables human learning processes, as well as human movement and functions, to be understood.

The method directly addresses human development skills, helping people to fully tap into their potential for change.

This extremely efficient system was developed by Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais, and is based on his insights from brain research, biomechanics, psychology, and pedagogy. It combines the promotion of both learning skills and health and is applied through FELDENKRAIS® Functional Integration (in one-on-one lessons) and FELDENKRAIS® Awareness Through Movement (in group sessions).

FELDENKRAIS® Awareness Through Movement

In FELDENKRAIS® Awareness Through Movement (ATM) group sessions, the FELDENKRAIS® teacher verbally guides a group of participants through sequences of movement. Each participant carries out the individual movements at his or her own pace.

These profound lessons in movement improve personal well-being and promote the discovery of ease, elegance and efficiency in participants’ everyday movements.

The program covers a wide range of human movements, such as those typically occurring in early childhood development, complex sports, or art.

FELDENKRAIS® Functional Integration

FELDENKRAIS® Functional Integration is a hands-on form of one-on-one lessons during which the FELDENKRAIS® teacher follows the individual needs of the student.

The tactile interventions of the teacher are gentle, non-invasive, and precise. The goal is to expand the existing range of movement and uncover negative movement patterns which can be lessened or even resolved.

This leads to more efficient everyday movement by the student, as well as in the student’s other activities, whether athletic, artistic (dance), or musical (playing an instrument).
